Mobile App

For security purposes, some content on the POPCS app requires a login to view.   You will use the same login credentials for both the POPCS app and Parent Place.  

Follow these step-by-step instructions to log in.

Step 1

Enter your username. 

New users:  Your username is your email address.

If you have previously set up your account but have forgotten your username or password, click here to recover your username and reset your password.  If the system does not recognize your email address, please email parentplace@popcs.org for assistance.

Note...You will use the same login credentials for both the POPCS app and Parent Place.  Each parent must have their own account connected to their own unique email address.

Step 2

Enter your password.

If you have forgotten your password, or are a first-time user, click the Forgot Password button, or click here to reset.  

You will be prompted to enter your email again.  You will receive an email with your username and instructions on how to set up or reset your password.

Select your language

Select Allow notifications

When the pop-up window opens, tap Allow

Select the school mailing lists you'd like to receive notifications for, and then click Subscribe.

 When you subscribe to a mailing list, you will receive a notification when newsletters/emails are sent, and you will be able to read those newsletters/emails on your device.

• See a small red bubble? You may not see it yet if you haven't subscribed to any notifications yet or if you have already read your notifications.
• Click the bell to see where your notifications will appear organized by type of notification. 
• Once you have subscribed, you will see buttons at the top which allow you to filter and choose what to show in the screen. 
• Scroll to read the different types of communication.

Under the section titled "Allow notifications" select Always and Save.

If you would like to mute notifications for a certain chat room, you can do so in each individual chat room.

Your device has settings that will allow you to set a customized schedule to allow or silence notifications.  To set a custom schedule for your device, check the settings for your device.

Step 1

Once you are logged in to the mobile app, find the Chats icon in the bottom toolbar.  Click to open and start chatting!

Tour the chat home screen, where it all begins!

• Chat rooms:  The top half of the chat screen includes a list of all of the chatrooms in which you are a chat participant.  Chat managers will serve as moderators of chatrooms, ensuring that all conversations meet safety and privacy standards.
• Direct Messages are in the bottom half.

Now you can start chatting!

Step 3

Chat Room Settings

• Click to open a chat room
• When the chat room opens, click on the chat room name at the top of the screen to open up chat room settings.
• Settings:
  • Mute: Toggle off to mute a chat room so that you won't receive notifications whenever there are unread messages.
  • Share using QR code: Access the QR code so that others can quickly and easily join a chat room. 
• In this conversation:
  • View any Pinned messages in this section. 
• Members:
  • Scroll to browse all members and add members to this section.

Step 4

Start Chatting!

• Click on chat rooms with a notification bubble next to them. This means you have Unread Messages.
• Start a chat message.
• Reply to a chat message by starting a thread.
• Send files such as images, documents, and more. 
• Engage in conversations using emojis.
• React to a chat message so that everyone feels heard and seen. 
• Please note...some chat rooms are set up to provide a one-way communication channel from POPCS staff members to parents, so you may not be able to chat in all rooms.
