Sports Medicine Program

Compete with Confidence

The Prince of Peace Athletic program is supported by a Sports Medicine team, which includes a full-time Board-Certified and State-Licensed Athletic Trainer.

In addition to directly caring for student-athletes, the Athletic Trainer leads the sports medicine team, a group of students who assist with on-field and on-court duties, bringing a strong background in athletic training, with experience working with high school athletes and in physical therapy.  The Athletic Trainer provides technical expertise and attentive care to support the health and performance of our student-athletes.

Education, preventative care, injury evaluation, assessment, management and rehabilitation,  and emergency management are of the highest priority for our staff to allow each student-athlete to compete optimally in all sports.

In the event that a student requires more focused care than can be provided on campus, POPCS has a long-standing relationship with a local orthopedic group and physical therapy group that are able to provide emergency and long-term care for those in need of alternative services.

What We Provide

  • Injury evaluation, management, and rehabilitation using evidence-based techniques.
  • Emergency care and event coverage for practices, games, and school-wide athletic events.
  • Return-to-play guidance in collaboration with physicians and families.
  • Preventative care, including taping, bracing, corrective exercise instruction, hydration planning, and heat/cold/lighting safety protocols.
  • Education and communication with athletes, parents, coaches, and administrators to support whole-person wellness and long-term athletic development.
