Expectations of Student Practice Time
Regular practice outside of the lesson time is essential for continued musical and artistic development. It is recommended that a student practice daily the same amount of time as the lesson; however, the actual length of time will be discussed with the instructor on an individual basis.
Make-Up Lessons and Punctuality
The instructor must be notified directly if a student expects to miss a lesson. Instructors are not required to make up missed lessons, though they may choose to do so. Tuition is not refunded for lessons missed by the student. If the student is late, the instructor is not under any obligation to extend the lesson beyond the scheduled ending time or reschedule the lost time. If the instructor is late, the instructor will either extend the ending time of the lesson or reschedule the lost time.
Lessons will not be made up if they are missed or denied due to late payments. The student is responsible for paying for all lessons, regardless of student attendance. Lessons not completed by the end of the year due to instructor absence will be credited to the student. If a 30-minute lesson is made up and combined with another 30-minute lesson to create a 60-minute lesson, tuition will be the rate of two 30-minute lessons.
Lesson Termination
Private lesson enrollment is for the 2024-2025 school year. If a student wishes to discontinue his/her private lessons prior to May 16, 2025, notice must be given 30 days in advance via the
lesson cancellation form. The student will be financially responsible for the lessons that occur within the 30 days from the date that the notice is given, whether or not the student chooses to attend the lessons. The registration fee is nonrefundable.
Recitals and Performance Opportunities
The Arts School is dedicated to seeing each student realize their full potential and glorifying God with their artistic gifts. For that reason, performance opportunities that serve as a testimony to each student's hard work occur throughout the year. It is a wonderful experience for family and friends to enjoy what the students have learned and can be a rewarding opportunity for the students. Students may also participate in local festivals, competitions, and state theory exams if those are avenues that interest the student, provided the student is adequately prepared.
The Arts School Year
The school year at The Arts School is divided into two main sessions, one in the fall and one in the spring. The Arts School also offers lessons in an abbreviated summer session. The 2024-2025 school year begins on August 19, 2024, and runs through May 22, 2025, with the week of May 19 - 22 as a makeup week only. Summer lessons will be offered from May 26 - August 8, 2025.

If the campus remains open and available on a day when lessons have been cancelled, special arrangements may be made on an individual basis between the student and the instructor to have a lesson.
