The Arts School offers group classes for students in art, drama, piano, dance, and strings.

Art Adventures
Instructor:  Megan Aguilar

Young artists will explore various art styles through projects inspired by a diverse collection of famous artists past and present from around the world.

Grades: 2-3
Wednesdays, 3:15-4:15 p.m.

Fundamentals of Jazz Dance
Instructor:  Carolyn S. Lang

Learn the fundamentals of jazz dance style and technique, while also learning fun choreography and dance combos! All ability levels are welcome, but steps will be broken down to the basics to build proper form in skill and flexibility.

Grades: 4-5

Tuition - $270
Tuition includes 15 classes and a performance option with Motion. 

All students will need to purchase and wear black slip-on or “no lace” jazz shoes for class.

Group Piano Class
Instructor: Dr. Elise Choi
The group piano class offers a traditional piano lesson in a group format.  Students are placed according to their ability in a class of 2-5 students, each using their own digital piano. The focus of the class is on enjoying music and learning the basics -- notes, rests, tempos, and dynamics.
Grades - 2-5  (Independent readers only)

Tuition includes 16 classes.  Additional fees may apply for binder, headphones, and music.


Ukulele Music Makers
Instructor: Kaitlin Bauer
Join us as we explore how fun music is through various instruments and games AND learn to play the ukulele! Each student will receive their very own ukulele to keep. We will play, sing, move, and make our own instruments along the way.
Grades: 1-4
Thursdays, 3:15-4:15 p.m.
Class begins Thursday, January 18, 2024

Tuition - $375
Tuition includes 14 classes, a new ukulele and case, and supplies.

Jazz Band
Instructor: Myles Tate

Discover the art of jazz at The Arts School! Learn jazz repertoire and how to improvise. Experience master classes with other professional jazz musicians. Enjoy recitals and playing opportunities outside The Arts School.

Prerequisite: must be able to read music and play at an intermediate level
Mondays and Wednesdays 3:15-4:45 p.m. (Occasional extra classes – at no additional charge – on Friday from 3:15-4:00 p.m.)
Class start date:  Wednesday, September 6, 2023 
Location - Prince of Peace Christian School Band Hall
Tuition - $50 per class; $1200 per semester
Tuition includes a minimum of twenty-four 90-minute classes. 
All materials, except instruments, will be provided.

POP Players - Children's Theater
Instructor:  Jami Calatozzo


Is your child overly dramatic or a shower singer? Then POP PLAYERS is the class for them! POP Players Children's Theater focuses on building confidence through singing, dancing, and acting. Our classes culminate in a musical theater production. Come join our creative adventure this semester!

“The Claw”

Dress Rehearsal - Wednesday, May 1, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m.       
Performance Dates - Thursday, May 2, 2024, 7:15 p.m. and Friday, May 3, 2024, 8:30 am.
Note: There will be no class on Tuesday, February 27, due to the dress rehearsal for the high school musical, “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown.”
Stage Combat
Instructor:  Samantha Calatozzo & Members of The Plague Masked Players


These classes focus on the fundamental skills that are needed by actors to perform effective stage combat.

All Skill Levels and Ages

Classes held occasionally during the school year and summer months; typically Saturdays
Location – Prince of Peace Christian School Fine Arts Center
Tuition – varies but typically $50/class
Group Classes for Woodwinds and Brass
Instructor:  Gio Washington-Wright
The Woodwinds class includes the following instruments: flute, clarinet, and saxophone.
The Brass class includes the following instruments: French horn, trumpet, trombone
Grades: 4-12
Saturdays, 1:00-2:00 p.m. Woodwinds
2:00-3:00 p.m. Brass
Classes begin on Saturday, January 20, 2024 and continue through Saturday, May 18, 2024

Tuition - $350 for 14 classes
Note: No classes on February 17, March 9, March 16, and March 30 due to school holidays.
Suzuki Group/Theory Class - Violin and Viola
Instructor - Andrea Martinson-Venincasa

Suzuki group classes reinforce concepts and repertoire introduced in private lessons. Depending upon the level of the group, it may include such things as pre-Twinkle songs, instrumental position games, review of Suzuki repertoire in an ensemble setting, note-reading on the student's instrument, or playing Suzuki and supplemental repertoire in multiple parts.

Suzuki group classes are only offered to students enrolled in Suzuki private instruction. All Suzuki students must enroll in group class for the duration of the school year. Please consult with your private teacher regarding placement.

Location: Choir Room

30-minute classes - $10 per class
45-minute classes - $15 per class
60-minute classes - $20 per class
75-minute classes - $25 per class
Group Classes for Beginning Percussion

Enrollment for the spring semester is now open.  All new and returning students complete the online enrollment form. The Arts School accepts new enrollments year round.
A non-refundable registration fee of $50 will be due at the beginning of the semester. Please see enrollment form regarding payment options.
Please note that The Arts School instructors will not collect enrollments or payments of any kind. 

Payment Policy

Group classes at The Arts School follow a predetermined schedule. Because of the nature of the group class setting, The Arts School will not be able to reimburse for missed classes, and make-up classes will not be available. In the event that the instructor of the class is not available or the class is canceled due to inclement weather, the class will be made up.

The Arts School Year

The school year at The Arts School is divided into two main sessions, fall and spring. The Arts School also offers lessons in an abbreviated summer session. The 2023-24 school year begins on August 14, 2023 and runs through May 23, 2024, with the week of May 20 - 23 as a makeup week only . Summer lessons will be offered from May 28 - August 19, 2024.

Inclement Weather and School Closings

The Arts School follows the inclement weather policy of Prince of Peace Christian School. Please listen to local radio and TV broadcasts for up-to-date information concerning school closings. School closings will be posted on the POPCS school homepage.  If the campus remains open and available on a day when lessons have been cancelled, special arrangements may be made on an individual basis between the student and the instructor to rescheduled. When inclement weather does develop, The Arts School reserves the right to cancel lessons for the day.
