4-Year College Planning

Freshmen

Grade 9: Freshmen

Engage Academically: Enroll in challenging courses to build a strong academic foundation.
Explore Extracurriculars: Join clubs, sports teams, or other organizations that align with your interests.
Build Relationships: Introduce yourself to your school counselor and teachers.

Standardized Testing Preparation: Begin preparing for standardized tests like the PSAT, ACT®, and SAT®.

Juniors

Grade 11: Juniors

Academic Focus: Continue excelling in your current courses and enrolling in classes that align with your academic interests and potential college major.
Standardized Testing: Take the PSAT in the fall to qualify for National Merit Scholarships. Plan and register for the ACT® or SAT®. exams.
College Research: Compile a list of prospective colleges based on factors like size, location, programs offered, and campus culture. Attend college fairs and schedule campus visits to gather firsthand information.

Seniors

Grade 12: Seniors

Finalize College List: Narrow down your list of colleges.
Complete Applications: Participate in College Application Workshops held at school to assist in preparing and submitting college applications, ensuring all components, including essays, transcripts, and recommendation letters, are completed thoroughly and submitted on time.
Decision Making: Review acceptance letters and financial aid offers carefully.
