5th - 8th Grade Math Teams Shine at Math Contest
The 2025 Metroplex Lutheran Schools Math Contest was held on March 28 at Dallas Lutheran School. POPCS was well-represented with four teams. Our 5th, 6th and 8th grade teams won first place overall for their grade levels. Our 7th grade team won third place overall. Congratulations to each of our talented participants!
The fifth grade team of Ellie Fine, Sam Flyg, Sam Chen, and Jase Thomas performed wonderfully. Ellie placed third in Number Zone and second in the Real World competition. Sam Chen and Sam Flyg tied for first in Number Zone. Sam Chen placed first in Beat the Clock and Sam Flyg placed second in Real World. Jase earned second place in Beat the Clock.
The sixth grade team of Mercer Martin, Jhanvi Gupta, Nate Brunenn, and Graham Marshall was admirable. Jhanvi placed third in Number Zone. In Real World, Graham placed first and Jhanvi placed third. Nate earned second place in Beat the Clock.
The seventh grade team of Brett Johnson, Kennedy Beavers, Kennedy Yelm, and Morgan Perry were fierce competitors. Kennedy placed second. Brett placed third in Number Zone and third in Real World.
The eighth grade team of Wyatt Stark, Kaelyn Taylor, Wesley Morton, and Steele Hooten was outstanding! Wesley earned first place in Number Zone and second in Beat the Clock. Wyatt placed first in Number Zone and second in Real World. Steele placed third in Beat the Clock.
