Welcome to the Counselor's Corner!

The High School Counselor, Patti Hurt, serves all High School students in a variety of ways. She is a wealth of knowledge for parents and students regarding all facets of the college search process. Mrs. Hurt cultivates communication with college admission officers at various colleges and universities around the country which helps pave the way for studets during the admission process. Every student meets with Mrs. Hurt during the school year to discuss course selections, PSAT, ACT, SAT, college options/choices, college scholarships and any other matters of interest. Students can make an appointment to meet with Mrs. Hurt for any reason - personal or school related.

Mrs. Hurt also conducts a Texas College Road Trip in conjunction with the Career and College Planning teacher, Mrs. Elaine Barnum. The Road Trip occurs during both the fall and spring semesters. Junior and Senior students who sign up will visit various colleges and universities, both public and private, in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. At each school, the group participates in a campus tour, visits with the Admissions officer, receives information about degree plans offered and benefits from an up-close view of the campuses they visit.

Mrs. Hurt is also available to meet with parents to provide guidance, counseling and facilitate communication. To make an appointment, parents may call 972-447-0532 ext. 341.
