This program is designed to give working parents a caring and safe place to leave their children. THE ZONE program provides before and after school care for children in Preschool through 6th grades, who are enrolled in a school program at Prince of Peace Christian School.
Care is available from 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Before-school care is provided from 7:00 - 8:30 a.m.
After-school care is provided from 3:15 - 6:00 p.m.
Enrollment
The tuition may be divided into 10 monthly payments and will be paid to Prince of Peace Christian School. THE ZONE tuition will not be reimbursed for absences.
Holiday in THE ZONE
When school is closed, Holiday in THE ZONE allows parents to enroll their children in a full-day program within the familiar surroundings of school. The cost is $45.00 per day. Parents will receive notification of upcoming “Holiday in THE ZONE” days. Parents are asked to reserve space and pay the fee two weeks before a given holiday. Payment for Holiday in THE ZONE must be made at time of reservation. Fees are not refundable or transferable to another day or child. Classes may be combined during Holiday Days due to lower numbers of students per age/grade. Students must bring a lunch and may bring special activity items for Holiday Days.
In the case of a change in the school and THE ZONE calendars, there may be an additional fee to cover care on days that were not originally scheduled for Holiday in THE ZONE days.
Calendar
THE ZONE operates from the first day of school through the last day of school. See the official school calendar for the schedule of the school year. Changes in THE ZONE calendar are subject to change according to changes in the school calendar. Holiday in THE ZONE fees will apply if changes are made.
Release of Children
Parents are requested to send a written note that is to be given to THE ZONE teacher or the school office if your child will be picked up by someone other than a parent or will be leaving the campus after school. During the day a fax may be sent to 972-447-0877 to inform the school of changes. Unless notified, children will only be released to those listed on the emergency form. Children are to be signed out for the day in THE ZONE class notebook. If a student will be leaving school early or going home in car pool, pleases notify THE ZONE office at 972-447-0532 ext. 465.
Closing time and Late Fee
THE ZONE program ends at 6:00 p.m., according to the school clock. It is the parent’s responsibility to make arrangements for the pick up of the student. At 5:55 p.m. all children remaining in THE ZONE will be brought to Fellowship Hall. A late fee of $1.00 per minute will be charged after 6:10 p.m. Charges will be billed by the school financial office on regular monthly statements.
Please call THE ZONE office if detained so your child will not worry. THE ZONE program retains the right to dismiss a student from THE ZONE for frequent or recurring late pick-ups.
Special Activities
Parents must notify THE ZONE teacher when a student is to attend any extracurricular activities such as scouts, team sports, gymnastics, and martial arts.
Health Policy
Children attending THE ZONE should be fever-free for 24 hours. A parent will be contacted if a child becomes sick at school. Parents are expected to pick up the sick child as soon as possible. It is expected that children who are well enough to attend school are well enough to go outside while attending THE ZONE.
Snacks
An afternoon snack and drink will be provided for all students. Children may furnish nutritious lunch items.
Discipline
THE ZONE teacher is responsible for setting a discipline program for his/her class. That discipline program is posted in each classroom.
Drop-In Policy
Drop-in care is available with a per day usage fee. Upon the second occurrence of drop-in care, the $50 registration fee will be due and payable.

Other Notes
Uniforms are not needed on a non-school day. Personal items, toys, roller blades, video games, are not to be used in THE ZONE on regular school days. Students may use personal music equipment (iPods with appropriate music/Walkmans) while in THE ZONE. THE ZONE is not responsible for any personal items brought to school by students.
THE ZONE program will close when school is canceled because of inclement weather.
THE ZONE program follows all policies as outlined in the Prince of Peace Parent Handbook.
