WINGS (Gifted and Talented)

The WINGS program is designed for students who exhibit high performance capability in an intellectual or creative area; demonstrate an unusual capacity for leadership; or excel in a specific academic field.

This program is crafted to address and challenge the unique needs of each student. We believe that meeting the needs of identifiable populations, such as gifted/talented, is sound educational practice. This program will allow for choices that address the specific gifts, talents and needs of individual students. The program will provide a balance of cognitive and affective development, which will challenge students to achieve educational excellence. At this time the WINGS Program will be offered for students in 1st-5th grade.

The instructor for the program is Mrs. Debbie Pevehouse, a trained educator with 27 years of experience. She received her Gifted and Talented Certification in 1992, and cherishes the challenges of working with academically and artistically gifted children. Prior to joining Prince of Peace, Mrs. Pevehouse taught in Plano, Coppell and Carrollton-Farmers Branch I.S.D.

If you would like to refer your child for possible placement in the program please contact Mrs. Pevehouse at POPCS, 972-447-0532 Ext. 1023 or email her at debbie.pevehouse@popcs.org.
